Most Saturdays throughout the year, Balmoral hold racing at their famous Murarrie Criterium track.
This track has seen stars from the junior ranks through to World Tour riders race on it, and has plenty of grades for people with less experience as well. Murarrie is a 1.4 kilometre circuit of closed road located on Wynnum Road at the Murarrie Recreation Reserve.
If racing is cancelled due to weather or calendar conflicts, the news page of the Balmoral website and the club facebook page will be updated to signify this. Please check before leaving for racing on Saturday morning.
The Entry fee for a Murarrie race is $15, or $10 for juniors*, regardless of grading. The Masters Grade is for Masters of any grading, who are 40years or older, if you wish to race this grade you will have to email our club handicapper about changing your Balmoral grading.
*Only Juniors who have completed the Junior Development training (link to junior development) and have been approved by the club handicapper to race in senior gradings can race in the Muzz crits. Juniors must also comply with CA tech rules (including rollout) to race in senior gradings.
Men and women race together in all grades. Club crit gradings are designed so that you can be competitive in your grade, if you do not feel that this is the case please contact the club handicapper. Your Balmoral crit grading will not necessarily reflect your CQ open grading. We also occasionally change format (eg: Teams racing).
The crit track is located at Murarrie Recreation Grounds, 1238 Wynnum road, Murarrie.
