Balmoral Cycling Club is proud to invest in the development of cyclists from juniors, through to elite and masters racing. There are many elements to this investment, with a key one being the Balmoral Elite Team. The club is proud to announce the 2020 Team, which has been selected by an independent panel of Balmoral members with experience in elite racing, commissairing and coaching. We welcome a number of newcomers to the team, and know they will be well mentored by some of our experienced Elite riders. On behalf of the Club, congratulations to all in the Balmoral Elite Team. Gillbert was also instrumental in establishing the teams relationship into European racing for our riders. Thank you Gillbert from all our present and past athletes. Mat Bickel now moves into Gillbert shoes bringing in a wealth of national and international experience. Gillbert is now moving onto a career as a "Catch and Release" Flathead fisherman... First event for the team will be the 2020 Australian Road Nationals in Ballarat in early January. Balmoral Cycling Club: 2019 Club of the Year! Immensely proud to share the news that Balmoral Cycling Club was awarded this honour today at the Cycling Queensland celebration event, fittingly, at Muzz. The overall club award was underpinned by Balmoral members being recognised with some of the most important individual, awards as well: Volunteer of the Year: Sean Walsh Tim Francis Memorial Commissaire of the Year: Tony Torr Coach of the Year: Alex Quirk Balmoral’s mission is to contribute to the sport of cycling, our members, and the community, by providing opportunities for competitive racing and skill development for Junior, Elite and Masters cyclists. Whilst Balmoral CC will support any other safe community usage, we think wheeled sports needs to remain the primary purpose of Murarrie Rec ground.
