Junior Development
One of Balmoral Cycling Club’s main focus areas is developing our juniors into well rounded and competitive riders.
With our return to Muzz on 23 November, we are working on a new junior development and training schedule. Stay tuned for more to come!
Our Junior Development (JD) program caters for juniors aged U9 – U17 years and our Junior Development Policy describes our approach to supporting our junior riders.
On Saturday mornings we run a JD program conducted by our qualified junior coaches, including a bike skills session followed by junior simulated races. We also offer Tuesday afternoon training for our younger juniors, a “roller training” session on Thursday nights during the school terms, and support for our older U15 & U17 juniors to participate in the Australian Junior Track Series.
It’s a condition of our Saturday morning JD program that all juniors must participate in the skills session before participating in simulated racing each week. All Balmoral CC Club coaches are AusCycling qualified and hold current Blue Cards. We expect all junior riders to be accompanied by a parent or guardian, unless alternative arrangements have been previously organised with the JD Coordinator.
For more information on our JD program, please contact our JD Coordinator.
